The very last day we woke up and left our shabby shic sex hotel and went to visit a giant (and this word is very much an understatement) Buddhist monestary and temple. It is new age and built entirely from charitable donations. It was really amazing to see all of the detail and the vast numbers of Buddhas. I really did not understand how many versions of Buddha and his personality there are.

Below is a picture of a cemetery. While we were in Taiwan it was Tomb Sweeping Day, which is a national holiday in which the oldest male member of the family is responsible to clean the family crypt and the area around it. It is a really big deal and was fascinating to see how they bury their ancestors.

We drove an hour to Taichung high speed railway station, where we took a high speed train to another city, which I can't spell or pronounce, boarded a bus to the airport, caught a flight back to Korea and then drove four hours home to Daegu.

We love to travel. We feel really blessed that we are able to afford to travel and have the opportunity to explore this big, amazing world. My parents planted a desire in me to see this world and to gain an understanding of all the people, cultures and ways of life. Now I have planted that seed in my children and the love it. My husband, who had never even seen the east coast until we'd been married three years, now is even more addicted than I am. We are now planning trips to China, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Japan in the next couple of years. It is something that is hugely important to us and now that we know that are kids are super-travelers, the world is ours for the taking!
